A Prayer for the people and nation of Ukraine
Remember to pray mature prayers (which are most effective), not just praying for their safety or removal from the situation but for God’s plan and protection for Ukraine, its people and believers.
What are the promises of God for believers needing protection? These are what you should be requesting / praying for God to do. Calling upon God to do what He has promised.
Psalm 59, 121 & 3 are all protection of believers and of client nations.

Psalm 59:1 (For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Mikhtam of David, when Saul sent men, and they watched the house in order to kill him [1Sam 19:11].)
[Promise] [CMD] Deliver me [snatch me away, right now] from my enemies, O my God [‘OMG’, endearment];
Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me. Psalm 59:2 [CMD] Deliver [snatch] me from those who do iniquity, And [CMD] save me from men of bloodshed.
Psalm 59:5 Furthermore You, Lord [Yahweh – God of Israel, TLJC] God of hosts, the God of Israel,
[CMD] Awake to punish all the nations [David shifts from individuals to nations];
Do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity [protect client nation(s)]. Selah.
Psalm 59:11 [Suggestion] Do not slay them, lest my people forget [God and His protection]; [CMD] Scatter them by Your power [break their power via Your power], and bring them down,
O Lord, our shield.
Psalm 59:12 On account of the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips,
Let them even be caught in their pride [arrogance],
And on account of curses and lies which they utter [verbal MAS, verbal arrogance, lies, anti-
God rhetoric]
Psalm 59:13 [CMD] Destroy them in wrath [Justice of God, promise Gen 12:1-3], [CMD]
destroy them, that they may be no more;
That men may know that God rules in Jacob [disobedient Jews], [direct statement the TLJC
controls history – locally, nationally, the world and the Angelic Conflict]
To the ends of the earth [all mankind will know until TLJC rules in the Millennium]. Selah.
Psalm 59 Summary: Trust in God in times of National and Personal trouble (PDW #527: 288b – 338) • Summary – We want to moan and groan about the problems we see and the evil that is all around
us. Don’t abandon your spiritual strength. Too often we spend more time examining and complaining about our problems than applying the wisdom of God for us, that He’s given to us. That’s a mistake that Psalm 59 should correct.
– Evil will never go away – This is Satan’s kingdom. His rulership and action produce evil along
with the OSN of fallen mankind.

- – God will reveal His power and sovereignty over the earth, by destroying arrogant, malicious people who would bring harm to you, or to a client nation.
- – Whenever evil is removed, and justice is affirmed, God’s sovereign power is confirmed.
- – God lets evil run its course, God’s justice does not sleep, it doesn’t. God doesn’t remove all evil,don’t expect him to. But He removes enough to benefit you, and when His Justice is inoperation His Sovereignty and strength is confirmed.
• Psalm 59 is a prayer, for God to defend the innocent and to destroy the evil ones.
So –
- – Believers should pray for peace and safety – for society in general, for Divine Institutions #1(Freedom), 2 (Marriage), 3 (Family) & 4 (Nationalism) so that spiritual growth and evangelismtakes place. That’s always a good request.
- – Believers must trust in God’s unfailing love: to care for us; to benefit us; to deliver us. So inasking for deliverance, you can claim God’s unfailing love, and He delivers.
- – Believers must find confidence in the Omnipotence and God’s Sovereign control over events inSatan’s world [external forces and internal forces (OSN)].
- – Don’t ever lose sight of who is the strongest, and whose Sovereign control, controls the events inSatan’s world. He does, there’s no question. His plan, His objectives will be fulfilled. Andtherefore His sovereignty and His power will be demonstrated.
- – We must always give the glory to Him in deliverance.Psalm 121:3 He [TLJC] will not allow your foot to slip [a believer moving on in the Plan of God];He [TLJC] who keeps you will not slumber [stumble].
Psalm 121:4 Behold [Indeed], He [TLJC] who keeps Israel [God’s client nations] Will neither slumber nor sleep.Psalm 121:5 ¶ The Lord [himself and none other] is your keeper; The Lord [himself and none other] is your shade on your right hand. Psalm 121:6 The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.Psalm 121:7 The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.

- The Lord is the keeper, protector, preserver of His pilgrims. In context pilgrims on the road toJerusalem, to worship at the Temple. TLJC is the guardian of our lives as we move through the journey of our physical and spiritual life.
- – Psm 121 is part of a collection of The Psalms of Ascent 120-134. A journey to Jerusalem, byJewish pilgrims, for the three great sacred festivals.
- – By application we are all travelers on a journey using the spiritual life, living the spiritual life.
- We are pilgrims on a journey, in a dangerous land, populated by cosmic system pitfalls, people, false religion, and ideology, it’s all around us. Those are our dangers

- – Along the way are many haters, persecutors, and other various enemies of Christ, who mean us harm.
- – We need and have a bodyguard as (His) pilgrims on this journey. We have the Lord Jesus Christ, who cannot be defeated, ever.
- – He will defend us through any and all adversity. When we Prov 3:5-6 and continue to Learn, Think, develop Motivation and then Act.Psalm 3:1 (A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.)O Lord [a lament, in distress], how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.
Psalm 3:2 Many [of these enemies] are saying of my soul,
“There is no deliverance for him in God.” [aka Fake News] Selah.Psalm 3:3 ¶ But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head. [David has a positive Mental Attitude based uponknowing God’s promises]
Psalm 3:4 I was crying to the Lord with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.Psalm 3:5 I lay down and slept [Relaxed Mental Attitude under pressure]; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
Psalm 3:6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me round about.Psalm 3:7 ¶ Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God!
For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
Psalm 3:8 Salvation [deliverance] belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.
Prayer –
A Prayer for the people and nation of Ukraine
Dear Heavenly Father – Thank your for the opportunity to boldly come forward to your Throne of Grace because of your so great plan; the work of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ; and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.
Today in human history, it looks bleak for the peoples of the world and especially the people of Ukraine. Cities are being bombed, there is a 40 mile long tank column in Ukraine headed to dominate and enslave this nation, (Psm 3:1-2)
My first request is that Your plan be fulfilled. The fulfillment of Your plan for this world and its people is of paramount importance.
Evil in this world will never go away until the 2nd Coming of our Lord. Yet God the Holy Spirit does restrain evil for your glory and honor and the fulfillment of Your plan. In doing so you will reveal Your Sovereignty, Justice and Power.
Secondly, in the fulfillment of Your plan, you are also our protector (Hebrew shamar) and our deliverer (Hebrew ezer).
Therefore my prayer request, in accordance with your Word, is to:
- Expose the people and the lies that are being told (Psm 59:5c, 59:11a, 59:12), so that Your truth is self-evident (Psm 59:13b,c).
- Bring on your Justice to evil ones (those who spout lies and anti-God rhetoric) as well as those who commit and practice evil against Your believers and Your Church (Psm 59:5, 59:11b, 59:13).
- Protect your believers, their families and your Church, wherever they are found (Psm 59:1, 121:3-8, 3:3).
- Deliver (snatch) the believers & the Divine Establishment oriented peoples in Ukraine from bloodshed (Psm 59:2).
- Deliver the believers and Church in Ukraine (3:4), in Your timing (3:7), and for Your Glory and purposes (Psm 3:8, 121:7-8).I pray for the President of Ukraine who is demonstrating courage and leadership in this time of crisis. Give him strength and good judgment as he leads his country against the forces of evil.Deliver Ukraine, its peoples and all those who stand for Your establishment freedom. May they be a beacon reflecting your Divine Principles so that all around will see You are God and that evil will not flourish.Wake up the world to see that evil must be stopped so that freedom can be the order of that day, even in Satan’s cosmic system. For my confidence is in an Omniscient & Omnipotent God (Psm 3:3b, 3:5-6, 3:8).I pray this in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, under the enabling power of God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
